Texas EMT Truck Sticker question (off-duty duty act)

Discussion inEMS Talkstarted byTheBuffOPSep 27, 2014.

I know we dont have a duty to act when we are off duty in Texas, but should I have a concern/problem if I put the sticker on my truck and my dad or brother drive my truck sometimes (rarely)?

Nope. Ive never understood how people expect others to distinguish an EMS sticker while a car is moving at a decent pace.

I personally dont put EMS stickers on my car but thats just me.

If it was an agency specific sticker I could see someone maybe complaining to the agency but if you have no duty to act per state law it doesnt matter anyways besides potentially bad PR.

I have realized its easier to bring my medical director a milk shake and ask for forgiveness, than it is to ask for permission.

Youre fine. I have a flight crew sticker and my red patch on my car and I drive past wrecks off duty all the time. Theyre there mainly if I need to get out of a ticket lol. Plus I live in nm and no one there knows what the red sticker means.

EMS does not save lives, EMS is to care for people. It is 95% of what we do.
